I loved everything about being an Estate Agent back in the 90’s. It wasn’t for the feint hearted, it was extremely competitive, but it was the most amount of fun. Most companies had at least one “character” within their ranks and those individuals shined brighter than most. They had personalities and were expressive and (in most cases) they actually cared about the job and, dare I say it, were proud to be an estate agent.

I was no different. It wasn’t about the money for me; it was about being seen as the best and building a reputation in order to compete with the very best at that time.

For 24 years I co-owned the biggest (and arguably the best) independent estate agency in Northampton but the job was changing drastically and therefore diluting the fun element. Rightmove allowed average agents to upload a property to its portal and wait for the calls to come in…the skill of spotting a deal was dying.

I left agency in 2019, proud of what I’d achieved, the reputation I’d built and the legacy I’d left behind. Then I get the call from Tom asking me if I’d consider getting “back in the game”. I made a few calls, sounded out a select handful of old friends and colleagues and have , once again, built something I’m incredibly proud of.

Our mission statement was to actively avoid being like a modern-day estate agent. We wanted to be different, disruptive, honest and to work for the fee-paying client to secure them the best price possible. We wanted to market client’s homes in the best way possible and to show them off on the platforms buyers spend so much time looking at including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. To offer service levels not seen for many years and….to bring the fun back into the job.
